Step 1 Finding out you are pregnant
One to One offer free pregnancy testing, advice and support whatever the result. With support from our midwives, we offer confidential, non-judgemental, clear information and can offer guidance on preconception right the way through to your birthing choices.
At the beginning of this very special journey it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by many different emotions and considerations, but One to One are here to help you make sense of them all.
You’ll be introduced to your named midwife following your first contact with One to One – and from the first day you contact us to the day we discharge you, your personal One to One midwife is with you every step of the way.
By having just one midwife you will benefit from Continuity of Carer – which means that your personal midwife will provide total care throughout your antenatal and postnatal period. Continuity of care is central to the One to One maternity care service and has been proven to increase the normal birth rate, reduce hospital admissions, reduce the risk of postnatal depression and improve women’s satisfaction with their care experience – leading to happier mothers and healthy babies.
By having a personal, named midwife, women can build a mutually trusting relationship – allowing the midwife to fully understand and respond to the unique needs or concerns of each individual, their partner and family.
